Learn how intraoral cameras can improve your care
Our dentist, Dr. Sandra L. MacDonald, will need to see every part of your smile in order to assess your dental health and help you decide which options for care are right for you. In order to do that, while at the same time keeping you comfortable, our office is equipped with intraoral cameras in Plymouth, Massachusetts. To learn how these cameras can improve your care, call our office at 508-830-3339.
What is an intraoral camera?
When examining your teeth and mouth, our dentist and team may use an intraoral camera. Intraoral cameras are small, pen-shaped devices used to take high-quality color photos of your teeth and gums. They are easily maneuverable and can be used to view all areas of your mouth, including the areas that are otherwise impossible for our dentist to reach. This imaging technology is also comfortable and non-invasive, and the camera can be removed quickly from your mouth as needed.
What are intraoral cameras used for?
Intraoral cameras are most commonly used to:
- Evaluate your oral health.
- Examine difficult-to-reach areas of the mouth.
- Diagnose dental problems, including tooth decay and gum disease.
- Diagnose tooth damage such as cracked or chipped teeth.
- Follow up on treatments after completion.
